  4. Bring your entries to the Fairgrounds on dates listed in each section.

RULES: All exhibitors will notify the superintendent of their entries by July 17th, the Saturday one week before the fair. All Cavies must be 12 oz or over. All animals will be fed and watered by 4-H/FFA club members; unless owner places an “owner will feed” sign on coop and is then responsible for feeding their animal(s). All entries will be checked by a veterinarian for mites, lice, and other diseases upon arrival to the fair, at the back gate. Any animal found with mites, lice, or other diseases will be rejected. The veterinarian’s decision is final. Cavies may be limited per breed per exhibitor. When space becomes an issue, 4-H and FFA entries will displace open class entries. All cavies will be judged by the American Rabbit Breeders Association’s Standard of Perfection. All cavies must have an identifying tag in the left ear. No crossbreeds will be allowed. Eception to this rule applies to Division 247, Pet Class - youth exhibitors only, not eligible for Championship awards. “Runners” will bring cavies to the type judging table. Equipment entries may be new or well cleaned used equipment. All equipment must be made by the exhibitor. Exhibitors must identify animals entered by breed, variety, class, sex, and ear number. Entries other than animals must be accompanied by a 3”x 5” card explaining the entry: What the entry is, How it was made, Where it will be used and any special techniques used.

RULES: All exhibitors will notify the superintendent of their entries by July 13th. All entries will be brought to the fairgrounds through the back gate on Thursday, July 22 between the hours of 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. All entries will be checked by a veterinarian for mites, lice, and other diseases upon arrival to the fair, at the back gate. Any animal found with mites, lice, or other diseases will be rejected. The veterinarian’s decision is final. All exhibitors are responsible for cleaning cages of animals they have entered in the Fair each day. Each exhibitor may enter a maximum of five rabbits per variety, but if space becomes an issue, 4-H/FFA animals will have priority. The American Rabbit Breeders Association publications, “Standards of Perfection” will be used as the official reference of evaluating rabbits. All rabbits on exhibit must have a permanent ear number for identification purposes and this number must be recorded on the entry card. All rabbits are to be shown by breed. PLEASE SPECIFY VARIETY/COLOR ON ENTRY FORM . No exhibit of doe/litter or milking doe will be allowed because of security and health concerns.

RULES: Open to all Mason County residents. All animals will be fed and watered by 4-H/FFA Club members that have been assigned barn duties, unless the owner places a sign on the coop and is responsible for feeding their animal (no paper sign tied on with string). All exhibitors are responsible for cleaning cages of animals they have entered in the Fair each day. Entries will be brought to the Fairgrounds on Thursday, July 22 between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. There will be no exceptions to this rule. All entries must be checked by the Fair Veterinarian at the back livestock entry gate prior to entering the Fairgrounds. Any animal found with mites, lice, or other diseases will be rejected. The Veterinarian’s decision will be final.
Poultry entries will be limited to no more than 25 birds per exhibitor and limited to three birds per variety due to space limitations. When space becomes an issue, Mason County 4-H and FFA entries will displace open Class entries. All judging will follow the American Standard of Perfection. All animals must be identified correctly by breed and variety by exhibitors.

RULES: This division is open to any dog handler, including 4-H members who want to show in open class. Cross entry will not be allowed, any animal entered as a 4-H project may not be shown in open classes and vice versa. Any breed or crossbreed. Entries need to be turned in to the Superintendent two weeks before fair. Veterinarian check-in is Friday morning at 8am. Rabies certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian, needs to be shown to the fair-time veterinarian, at check-in. Exhibitors are to use a 6ft. leash with a swivel snap and loop on opposite ends. Leather or fabric leads are preferred. Chain leashes are not allowed. Training collars will be used outside the benching area. No fancy collars, spike, or other special training collars are permitted. Nothing is to be hanging from the collar during competition. Show leads should be used in Showmanship class. Exhibitors need to keep their dogs in the exhibit area, show ring or designated exercising area during the Fair. The dogs will be on a leash at all times except in obedience or agility class.
Exhibitors are not allowed to do intensive training of dogs on fairgrounds. Abuse or severe unwarranted disciplining of dogs on the fairgrounds will be grounds for excusing the exhibitor from grounds without premiums. Any dog deemed to be a danger by the superintendent might be dismissed from the fair by the superintendent. There will be NO disciplining of dogs permitted during competition. Each exhibitor exhibiting a dog in the fair must enter Showmanship and Obedience classes. Exhibitors will be asked to do herdsmanship during designated times.

RULES: Fair RULES require sheep entries to be mailed to Superintendent no later than July 16th. All exhibitors will be assigned barn duty. Premium Points will be forfeited if barn duties are not fulfilled. Open Class is for purebred sheep only. “Bred by exhibitor” means that the lambs were born on your farm. Exhibitors are limited to two fleeces per Class. Fleeces do not need to be tied. Fleeces may be in plastic bags. Fleeces need to be clean, with tags removed. Judging is at 9am Friday. RULES: Entrants will be divided into Classes as outlined below. Animal must be conditioned, fitted and trained to show on a halter. Participants need not own the animal they are showing. Contestants must wear a garment which is at least 70% wool, mohair, llama or alpaca. Entry shall include a typed or printed description of the garment to be worn, the background of the contestant and the breed of the animal shown. This is to be read during the contestant’s promenade in the ring.
Entrant’s will be judged as follows:
A. Garment – 40%
B. Handling & appearance of animal - 30%
C. Exhibitor’s overall image - 30%
Entries are due in by Sunday morning July 25th (time will be posted in the arena). Be sure to fill out a separate entry form. Judging will be at the arena, as close to 1:00 pm as possible; based on availability of the arena. All exhibitors are encouraged to participate in the Lads’ and Ladies’ contest.
