RULES: Entries will be received Wednesday, July 23 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Items may be picked up Sunday after 7:00 p.m. Each entry judged on own merits.
Judging Criteria includes: age of exhibitor, complexity, mastery of materials, overall quality, attractiveness, clean & neat, usefulness. Entries may be whimsical or practical. Each display needs a 3x5 card (put name on back) telling:
1) What it is, what makes it work, what it is supposed to do, etc.
2) When & where it is used
3) Source of design
4) Approximate cost of construction
5) Materials used
6) Is there a commercially made device that is similar and what is its cost?

RED STAR YEAST AWARDS
This year the RED STAR YEAST Company will award yeast and coupons to all culinary participants as they bring their food items to the competition. In addition RED STAR YEAST will also award: a RED STAR flexible cutting board, a RED STAR apron, and a RED STAR measuring beaker in the bread baking class.

Rules: Entry date for this department is Monday, July 21st, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Building #16. Pickup times are Sunday 7:00 p.m. NOT BEFORE - NO EXCEPTIONS. All exhibits must be marked with name, initials, or kiln marks of exhibitor. No more than two entries per category in any one class. All pieces must be the handiwork of the exhibitor and finished within the last two years. Pieces which have been entered in the Mason County Fair in previous years are not eligible to be exhibited.
Professionals must show business card and/or name of business and tax number; or write this information on their entry form. All lamps must be exhibited without shades. All planters must be shown without plants. All tiles, plates & planters must have stands. All loose pieces, lids, bases, etc., are to be secured with tape. The Fair is not responsible for breakage.

Division 60 ~ Professional
Any artist actively trying to sell his/her work, currently or in the past, any artist teaching ceramic arts currently or in the past, &/or any ceramic shop owner.
Division 61 ~ Adults
An exhibitor who has never received pay for his/her ceramic work. An exhibitor who has never taught ceramic arts, now or in the past.

Rules: Craft entries will be received Tuesday, July 22 from 1 p.m.- 7 p.m. Items may be picked up Sunday, July 27th, no earlier than 7:00 pm. You will need to bring your yellow entry receipt to exchange for your entry. Only five (5) items may be accepted per class. A display of pieces should show as much variety as possible.
Judges give extra consideration to exhibits that are presented in an original and attractive manner. Contact the Superintendent for large displays. Items need to be new since the last fair, clean, and in good condition. Anything that needs to be hung must come adequately prepared with appropriate hangers.
Judging criteria:
a) Age of exhibitor
b) Complexity of project
c) Mastery of materials
d) Overall quality
Judging will be by division, and the decisions of the judges are final. The craft department is delighted to welcome junior and youth open class entries. This is a great place to get started with the Fair. We enjoy showcasing the craft people of the future. Professional and semiprofessional may enter in their age division for classes in which they do not sell items.

GLOSSARY OF FLORAL TERMS
DESIGNER’S CHOICE
Any plant material or combination of plant material: fresh, dried, or treated and freedom to choose components.
CREATIVE DESIGN
An original concept, usually displaying plant material in other than its natural growth patterns.
DISH GARDEN
A miniature landscape in an open, shallow container.
MULTIPLE STEMS
Must be the same size and length.
NO EMBELLISHMENT OF FRESH
PLANT MATERIAL
Fresh plant material must be shown as it grows with one exception, it may be cut or trimmed.Example: leaves and blossoms may be trimmed or cut away. No addition of paint, glitter, oil etc. to fresh plant material.

Rules: Entries will be accepted on Wed. July 23rd from 1pm-7pm. All entries must be exhibited in standard clear canning jars. All lids must be standard two-part lids with screw bands removed before entry. Exception: Dried foods are to be entered with rings. No mayonnaise or other commercially used jars are permitted. Processing times and methods must follow USDA approved recommendations. These are available from Mason County WSU Extension Office (427-9670 ext.396) All products will be judged by the above references. Jars without labels, under processed foods or foods not listed in these references will be disqualified.
Each exhibit must be labeled with the following information included on the label:
1. Processing method (pressures, boiling water, or dried)
2. Method of packing (hot or cold, or
pretreatment)
3. Amount of time processed
4. Date of processing
5. Name of product
6. Product containing tomatoes
7. Amount of citric acid or lemon juice added.

RULES: Only Mason County Granges are eligible. No commercial or brand names are to be displayed in any booth. The name of the Grange is to be covered until booths have been judged. Only agricultural products that can be grown in Mason County can be used in displays. May be seeds, fresh, home canned, or dried. Props depicting Fair theme may be used only once. Constantly moving or motorized items must be monitored daily. Exhibits must be completed by 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24th and remain in place until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27th. $50.00 will be given to each participating Grange to help with expenses.

10 points: Educational message, Is The Message Understood At a 6 Second Glance.
